New Stakes winner for Shirocco

Lady Liberty victorious in Germany to become the 12th 2013 Black type performer for her sire

Shirocco sired his seventh Stakes winner and 12th Stakes performer of the year so far on 13 October when his three-year-old daughter Lady Liberty landed the second division of the Listed Nereide-Rennen (Div 2) at Munich.

Settled just off the pace, the three-year-old filly was asked to quicken two furlongs from home and responded superbly to take up the lead and holding off the challenge of eventual second Lumiere Rose, kept on superbly to win by a length and a half.

Bred by K and Mrs Cullen, Lady Liberty is out of Love And Laughter, making her a half-sister to G1 winner Wigmore Hall.

Shirocco is also sire this year of Goodwood Cup winner Brown Panther (currently being aimed at the Melbourne Cup), Lillie Langtry Stakes winner and G1 Prix Vermeille second Wild Coco, and Group-winning sprinter Abu Sidra.
