New Stakes winner for Halling

Two-year-old filly Sushi Tuna records her third straight win, landing the Criterium du Languedoc

Dalham Hall stalwart Halling recorded a new Stakes winner on 8 November, when his two-year-old daughter Sushi Tuna took the Listed Criterium du Languedoc, run over a mile at Toulouse.

Settled towards the rear of the field, Sushi Tuna was switched outside approaching the home straight and kept to her task superbly to win by a length.

This was her third consecutive victory, having won over the same distance at Longchamp on her previous two starts.

Bred by Yeguada de Milagro, Sushi Tuna is the first foal to race out of the winning Danehill Dancer mare Sleeping Storm – a half-sister to Stakes-winning juvenile Knavesmire.

Halling is also sire of 2012 Group winners Opinion Poll, Donn Halling and King’s Hall, plus fellow Black type juvenile Verdane.
