New Stakes winner for Cape Cross

Tarana gains a well-deserved first Black type win in the Martin Moloney Stakes

Cape Cross has enjoyed a successful spell of late and already has ten Black type performers on the board this year including hot French Guineas contender Lesstalk In Paris. On 26 April his four-year-old daughter Tarana added a first Stakes win to her consistent record when landing the Listed Martin Moloney Stakes at Limerick.

Bred by HH The Aga Khan, Tarana is out of the multiple Listed winner and Group performer Tarakala, dam of two winners from two foals to race. Tarana won on her only start at two and was second in the Listed Trigo Stakes on her only start at three, before reappearing this year with a second in the Alleged Stakes earlier this month.

Cape Cross, who stands at Kildangan Stud at a fee of €30,000 October 1st Special Live Foal, is also sire this year of UAE Derby second Asmar and last weekend’s Listed Snowdrop Stakes winner Zurigha.
