New juvenile Stakes winner for Kheleyf

Virtual Game becomes the latest talented two-year-old for his sire

Kheleyf has been enjoying an outstanding season with his two-year-olds, with no fewer than 29 of them winning so far this year, and on 23 September his consistent son Virtual Game successfully stepped up to Black type level when landing the Premio Rumon in Rome.

Stefano Botti’s charge was settled towards the rear of the field before demonstrating a superb turn of foot in the home straight, sweeping past his rivals to win by two lengths. He has now won on three occasions and finished second once in four starts.

Virtual Game was bred by Jennifer and Evelyn Cullen and is out of the Sadler’s Wells mare Engraving, herself a half-sister to five-time Stakes winner Kocab.

Kheleyf has now sired three Stakes-winning two-year-olds this year, with Penny’s Picnic and Go Angellica completing the trio.
