New Group winner for Iffraaj

The Black Princess lands G3 Prix Allez France at Chantilly

Four-year-old Iffraaj filly The Black Princess has been a wonderfully consistent campaigner for her sire, never finishing out of the first three, and on 30 April she recorded a well-deserved first Group win when taking the ten-furlong G3 Prix Allez France at Chantilly.

Sent straight to the front under Frankie Dettori, John Gosden’s charge travelled smoothly throughout and was never seriously challenged, running on well to win by a length and a quarter.

The Black Princess was bred by Petra Bloodstock and is out of Larceny (Cape Cross), a half-sister to G1 Prix Diane Hermes winner Latice, herself dam of Street Cry’s multiple Stakes winner Fencing.

The Black Princess won on her racecourse debut at two and won the Listed Prix Solitude at Saint-Cloud last November.

Iffraaj has enjoyed a superb year so far, siring G1-winning duo Jon Snow and Gingernuts in the southern hemisphere, plus fellow G1 performers Ribchester, Muffri’ha and Turn Me Loose.

Iffraaj stands at Dalham Hall Stud in Newmarket at a fee of £27,500 October 1st SLF.
