New Group winner for first-crop sire Belardo

Two-year-old Lullaby Moon lands G3 Prix Miesque

Lullaby Moon, a first-crop daughter of Belardo, landed her first Group victory when taking the G3 Prix Miesque over seven furlongs at Chantilly.

Winner of the Listed Two Year Old Trophy at Redcar on her last start, the Ralph Beckett-trained filly raced keenly behind the early leaders. With just under two furlongs to travel, jockey Richard Kingscote found himself short of room. Seeing an opportunity, Kingscote asked the filly to quicken with Lullaby Moon duly obliging, forging a path up the inside rail and surging past her rivals to win by two lengths.

Bred by Bearstone Stud and sold as a yearling at Tattersalls Book 2 sale, Lullaby Moon is the best performer from the winning Indesatchel mare Bold Bidder. She is a half-sister to the Stakes-placed pair of Right Answer and Better Built from the family of multiple Group-winning sprinter and sire Mind Games.

Champion two-year-old himself, Belardo progressed to be a top class miler winning the G1 Lockinge Stakes. Lullaby Moon is the third Group winner for her first-season sire following G2 Rockfel Stakes heroine Isabella Giles and G3 Park Stakes victrix Elysium. His Stakes performers also include Listed Blenheim Stakes third Bell I Am.
