Mister Universe strikes at Wolverhampton

Son of Cape Cross wins the Lady Wulfruna Stakes

Cape Cross sired a new Stakes winner on Saturday 12 March when his four-year-old son Mister Universe ran out the brave winner of the Lady Wulfruna Stakes. With two Stakes-places already to his name, he came into the race on the back of handicap triumph off a lofty mark of 102. Held up in midfield early in the seven furlong contest he went into the lead over a furlong out and held off the late challenge of last seasons victor Sovereign Debt.

Bred by Car Colston Hall Stud, Mister Universe is a son of the Stakes-winning Selkirk mare Miss Ivanhoe.

Cape Cross is now the sire of 103 Stakes winners including Derby hero and Darley stallion Golden Horn, who is standing at Dalham Hall Stud at a fee of £60,000.
