Maybe Miami adds a second Black type victory to his record

Son of Iffraaj flies home to take the Listed Flying Handicap at Awapuni

Iffraaj’s son Maybe Miami powered home to win the Listed Flying Handicap at Awapuni in New Zealand on 1 April, recording his second Stakes victory in the process.

Jumping well, Maybe Miami was settled just off the pace before charging down the straight to win the seven-furlong contest by a length and a half.

Bred by A W Jones, Mrs E W Morris and Canterbury BS, Maybe Miami is out of Waikiki Star mare Miami, who is a sister to Stakes-winning mare Argentina and has produced six winners from seven foals to race.

Iffraaj, who stands at Dalham Hall Stud at a fee of £27,500, has now sired 48 individual Stakes winners including top performers Ribchester, Rizeena, Chriselliam and Wootton Bassett as well as his most recent star prformer Gingernuts, who won both the G1 New Zealand Derby and the G1 Rosehill Guineas last month.
