Madly Truly determined winner at Naas

Filly becomes first Irish winner for freshman sire Cracksman

First season sire Cracksman got off the mark in Ireland on Sunday, 21 August, when his daughter Madly Truly held off the fast-closing Sibyl Charm to win the Irish EBF Median Sires Series Fillies maiden race at Naas.

Trained by Joseph O’Brien for owner John C. Oxley, Madly Truly, who was making her second career start, raced prominently throughout the seven-furlong contest, eventually taking the lead with a furlong left to run. The dark bay lass then had to dig deep to hold off the late closing Sibyl Charm to win by a head.

Bred by Ireland by Ringfort Stud, Madly Truly is out of the Stakes-placed mare, Coolminx (One Cool Cat). In addition to Madly Truly, Coolminx is also the dam of the Stakes-winning and multiple Graded Stakes-placed colt, Fearby (Havana Gold), and she is a half-sister to the multiple Graded Stakes-winning mare, Beau Recall (G2 Longines Churchill Distaff Turf Mile [twice], G2 Yellow Ribbon, G2 Royal Heroine, etc.).

Cracksman, a dual European Champion, is now the sire nine individual winners, which include unbeaten Stakes-winning filly Dance In The Grass, Italian Stakes-placed filly Aloa, unbeaten Newbury winner Rich and dual winning fillies Crackovia and Petra.
