Kitesurf lands the G3 Prix de Royaumont

Second Group winner in as many days for Dubawi

Less than 24 hours after Laugh Aloud’s very impressive victory in the G3 Princess Elizabeth Stakes at Epsom, Dubawi added his tenth Group winner of the year to his record when his three-year-old daughter Kitesurf won the G3 Prix de Royaumont at Chantilly.

Always travelling well under Mickael Barzalona, the Andre Fabre-trained filly flew down the home straight to sweep past her rivals and win with plenty in hand.

Kitesurf has been in the frame in all four of her starts, breaking her maiden at Compiegne in April, before gaining her first Black type when second in the Listed Prix de la Seine at Chantilly on 7 May.

Bred by Peter Winkworth, Kitesurf is the first foal to race out of the Group-winning Danehill Dancer mare Shimmering Surf.

Dubawi has now sired ten individual Group winners this year, plus a further five Black type winners and 15 horses who have been placed at Stakes level. They are headed by G1-winning duo Almanaar and Sobetsu, plus G2 Yorkshire Cup winner Dartmouth.
