Darley has announced that Gerry Duffy (pictured above) has been appointed General Manager of their Kildangan Stud in Ireland and Eamon Moloney has been promoted to the position of Nominations Manager.

Gerry Duffy, a native Irishman from County Kildare, graduated from the Darley Flying Start course in 2007 and worked for Darley in America for nearly five years prior to moving to his current position as Stallion Seasons Director at WinStar Farm in Kentucky. Also the holder of a Masters in Business Administration, Gerry will work closely with Jimmy Hyland to assist him with the management of Darley’s seven farms in Ireland in addition to teaming up with Eamon Moloney to oversee the management of Darley’s Irish stallion roster.

Joe Osborne said, “We are very pleased that Gerry will be joining us. He brings with him a great deal of experience given his nearly five years in our nominations team in Kentucky and current position at WinStar. Gerry’s roots and time with us on Flying Start means he is familiar with Darley, our stallions, the Irish market and many of our clients. His experience combined with his business knowledge mean that he will make a significant contribution to our management team and we look forward to welcoming him back to Ireland at the beginning of August.”

Duffy responded, “I am very thankful to the many people I have gotten to know here in Kentucky for their support in my roles at both Darley and WinStar. I am especially grateful to Elliott Walden for giving me the opportunity to be a part of the WinStar team and wish them the very best going forward. With that said, I am thrilled to be coming home to join the team at Darley in Ireland. Joe Osborne and Jimmy Hyland have Kildangan running like clockwork and I look forward to contributing wherever I can. I am particularly looking forward to learning the ropes from Jimmy, working closely with Eamon to develop the stallion roster and reacquainting myself with our clients in Europe.”

Eamon Moloney, who has been an integral part of Darley’s European nominations team for the last seven years has been promoted to the role of Nominations Manager in Ireland.

Osborne continued, “Eamon has been with us at Kildangan since 1997 and has done an exceptional job in very difficult circumstances this season. Eamon knows our stallions and the Irish market inside and out and he has played a crucial role in ensuring we continue to offer our clients excellent service. Eamon will be a great support to Gerry and this promotion ensures not only that our clients’ best interests will continue to be at the forefront of what we do but that our management team continues to be well-balanced and dynamic, ensuring our future success.”
