Juvenile Listed winner for Kheleyf

Need You Now lands the Radley Stakes

Making just her fourth racecourse appearance, Need You Now, a two-year-old daughter of Kheleyf, landed the Listed Radley Stakes over seven furlongs at Newbury on Saturday.

Bred in Ireland by John Weld, Need You Now is out of the Shernazar mare Sniffle and is a half-sister to three winners, including the Listed winner Snippets.

The Peter Chapple-Hyam-trained filly made her debut on 7 August and won her maiden a week later over six furlongs at Wolverhampton. Her Listed victory comes as a timely boost for her owners, Franconson Partners, as she is catalogued as lot 387 in Tattersalls Horses-in-Training Sale, which starts on Monday.

Kheleyf, who has had a terrific season with his juveniles, siring 33 individual two-year-old winners, is also the sire of Group winners Penny’s Picnic, Sayif and Percolator, plus this season’s Ayr Gold Cup winner Captain Ramius, who on Saturday added victory in the seven-furlong conditions stakes at Doncaster to his impressive record.
