Cape Cross colt lands Festival Stakes at Goodwood

Jet Away added yet another stakes victory to the list for the hugely successful team of Prince Khalid Abdulla and Sir Henry Cecil when scoring a two-and-three-quarter length win over the favourite Fiorente in Goodwood’s ten-furlong Festival Stakes.

The Cape Cross five-year-old, who was homebred by Juddmonte, has now won six of his 13 starts, including his only other outing so far this season at Ripon. He is the first foal of the Kahyasi mare Kalima, an unraced sister to the outstanding broodmare Hasili, the dam of Dansili, Banks Hill and Intercontinental among her seven stakes winners.

Jet Away is the 70th stakes winner for Cape Cross, whose nine individual Group One winners include Sea The Stars, Ouija Board and Able One. He stands at Kildangan Stud for €35,000, October 1, Special Live Foal.
