Pintara, a juvenile daughter of Pinatubo, remained unbeaten when landing the Listed Montrose Fillies’ Stakes on Saturday, 1 November. After a debut victory at Salisbury in August, she was making only her second career start, and wasn’t hard pressed to record a three-and-a-half length victory over Newmarket’s straight mile.
Owned and bred by Ballylinch Stud and out of the Stakes-placed mare Abilene, Pintara is a half-sister to two winners including the G2-placed Juan de Montalban.
Pinatubo is the sire of 15 Stakes performers including G2-winning filly Qilin Queen and Listed winners Croquis and Tipinso. Of the 15, six are from Pinatubo’s second-crop juveniles including the G2-colts Dickensian and Hardy Warrior.
