Iffraaj and Raven’s Pass retired from stud duties

Iffraaj and Raven’s Pass have been pensioned from stud duties and will enjoy their retirements at Dalham Hall Stud and Kildangan respectively, where they have been stalwarts for many years.

Iffraaj sired 14 individual G1 winners during his stud career, including Champions Ribchester, Chrisellium and Rizeena, plus leading sire Wootton Bassett.

Just this February, he added a new G1 winner to his record when Jaarffi landed the Otaki Maori Classic, one of several top-flight performers to emerge from his fruitful years spent shuttling to New Zealand.

Iffraaj is also responsible for this year's French 1,000 Guineas runner up in The Last Dance.

He is also making his mark through his daughters, who have produced 50 Black Type winners to date including this year's G1 Commonwealth Cup heroine Venetian Sun.

Breeders’ Cup Classic winner Raven’s Pass has also been a dependable source of talented horses, siring 13% Stakes horses and 7% Stakes winners to runners.

His standout performer is Japanese superstar Tower Of London, now sire of a G1 winner himself.

Raven's Pass also has a superb record as a broodmare sire, with four G1 winners including French Derby hero Mishriff, five-time Group-winning filly Saffron Beach, Prix de la Foret heroine Ramatuelle, and the 2024 Poule d’Essai des Pouliches scorer Rouhiya.

Sam Bullard, Director of Stallions said, "Both Iffraaj and Raven’s Pass have been rock solid as a source of Stakes horses, both as sires and more recently as broodmare sires.

"The time is now right for them to retire from covering duties, but they will remain in their respective stallion yards where they will hopefully enjoy their retirement for many years to come."
