Group Two victory for Shamardal colt

Zazou triumphs in Germany; Listed win for Tiger Hill filly; Librettist records his fourth winner

Continuing an excellent run for his sire after the exploits of dual Classic winner Lope De Vega, Shamardal three-year-old Zazou won the G2 Oppenheim Union-Rennen by two lengths at Cologne on Sunday.

Already the winner of the G3 Dr Busch Memorial earlier in the season, the Gestut Fahrhof-bred colt was scoring for the fourth time in just eight starts. He was also placed in the G1 Criterium de Saint-Cloud last October.

In Italy, four-year-old Tiger Hill filly Intigra recorded her first Stakes victory when winning the Listed Premio Bersaglio. She has also finished runner-up in the Listed Grosser Preis der Hannoverschen Volksbank this year. Intigra was bred in Germany by Ferdinand J. Leve and is out of the Local Suitor mare Incenza.

Darley’s young bucks are enjoying plenty of success at present, with Haras du Logis resident Librettist celebrating a fourth individual winner on Sunday when Major Conquest landed a six-furlong maiden at Salisbury.

Bred by Deer Forest Stud from Arabis, by Arazi, the colt was making his third start having posted two pleasing efforts in competitive maidens to date.
