Gris de Gris lands G2 Prix du Muguet

Slickly records his first Pattern winner

Slickly has made an outstanding start to the 2008 racing season and on 1 May, his four-year-old son Gris de Gris recorded his third Black type win of the year with a convincing victory in the G2 Prix du Muguet, run over a mile at Saint-Cloud.

Settled in second behind Persian Storm, who set a decent early pace, Gris de Gris was always travelling well and took the lead with around two furlongs left to run. Once in front, he was never troubled by his rivals and ran on impressively to become Slickly's first Pattern winner.

Whilst future plans for Jean-Marc Capitte's charge are not finalised, Gris de Gris could now head to Deauville in a bid to go one better than his sire in the G1 Prix Jacques le Marois (a race in which Slickly finished second to Dubai Millennium in 1999).

Slickly stands at Haras du Logis in France.
