Cape Cross five-year-old Crossthestart added to his Group victory last month by winning the G2 Brisbane Cup at Doomben on Saturday.
Bred by Karreman Bloodstock from Startling Lady (Gold And Ivory), the consistent gelding is trained by Bevan and Richard Laming and has won nine of his 29 starts and more than $500,000 in prize-money.
He is just one of a number of talented southern hemisphere performers by Cape Cross from his days of shuttling to New Zealand. Others include the Group One winners Able One, Gaze, Kindacross, Mikki Street and Seachange, while his European top-flight winners are the outstanding duo of Sea The Stars and Ouija Board.
