Exciting young sire Pinatubo could have a G1 Oaks contender in his first crop as his three-year-old daughter Qilin Queen landed the Listed Fillies’ Trial Stakes at Newbury on Saturday, 17 May.
Settled out in front, Qilin Queen showed a great attitude to hold off all challengers and win by a short head at the line, setting up a possible tilt at the Epsom Classic next month.
Just held on!

Bred by Mrs T Mahon, Qilin Queen is the sixth foal out of Sea The Stars mare Seagull, who is herself a half-sister to Irish 1,000 Guineas winner Nightime, the dam of Kildangan Stud resident and World Champion Ghaiyyath.
Qilin Queen is one of a number of exciting three-year-olds in Pinatubo’s first crop, including G3 Greenham Stakes fourth Diablo Rojo. Dickensian was an impressive juvenile winner for the sire last month, landing a £30,000 novice event over five furlongs.
