Force charges to victory in the Rolling Green Stakes

Son of Raven’s Pass becomes his sire's fourth Black Type winner in two weeks

Force swept past his rivals in the stretch to win the Rolling Green Stakes at Golden Gate Fields by three widening lengths on Sunday, 17 September.

Settled in a stalking position just behind the leaders through the early stages of the race, the son of Raven’s Pass swung to the outside at the head of the lane, then mowed down his rivals late to win quite easily.

Bred in Ireland by Brian Walsh, Force is out of Holly’s Kid, a winning daughter of Pulpit. Holly’s Kid is out of the Stakes-winning mare, Ruthian, making her a full-sister to Rutherienne, winner of the G1 Del Mar Oaks, and Ruthenia, winner of the G3 Violet Stakes.

Raven’s Pass has now sired 22 individual Black Type winners including Big Duke, winner of three Group contests and third in the G1 Sydney Cup this year. His son Secret Number won the G2 Bosphorus Cup earlier this month and he also has G1 performer Via Ravenna (second in the Prix Rothschild) this year.
