Five winners for Raven’s Pass

Steeler is victorious at Goodwood to become the latest successful juvenile for his first-season sire

Breeders’ Cup Classic winner and record-breaking juvenile Raven's Pass has made an impressive start to his stud career and on 4 August he recorded his fifth individual winner when Steeler was successful on the final day of Glorious Goodwood.

Never far from the pace, the Mark Johnston-trained colt was asked to quicken three furlongs from home and ran on well to win the seven-furlong contest by three-quarters of a length.

Bred by Airlie Stud, Steeler is out of the G3-winning Darshaan mare Discreet Brief and is from the family of G1 winner and Black type producer Key Change.

Raven’s Pass is also sire of Chesham Stakes third Lovely Pass, plus three other winners in Interesting, Relco Nordic and Snowboarder.
