First stakes winner for Raven's Pass

Steeler posts game victory in the Listed Peter Willett Stakes

Steeler became the first stakes winner for Raven's Pass with victory in the Listed Peter Willett Stakes over seven furlongs on Tuesday.

Runner-up on his debut to subsequent Listed winner Deauville Prince, Steeler shed his maiden tag at Glorious Goodwood before running an excellent second to the highly regarded Dundonnell in the G3 Acomb Stakes at York's Ebor Meeting.

He was bred in Ireland by Airlie Stud from their Park Hill Stakes winner Discreet Brief, by Darshaan, who has already produced the Listed-placed Doggerbank.

Raven's Pass, a talented record-breaking juvenile who went on to win the Breeders' Cup Classic, has been represented by seven individual winners in Europe and one in America, including his debut scorer, Lovely Pass, who was third in the Listed Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot behind winning New Approach colt Tha'Ir.
