First runner for Raven’s Pass a winner

Lovely Pass strikes for Godolphin at Lingfield

Lovely Pass became the first winner for her freshman sire Raven's Pass with an eye-catching victory in a six-furlong fillies’ maiden at Lingfield on Saturday.

The Godolphin filly clearly has talent in abundance as she dwelt at the start and showed signs of greenness in the early stages of the race but worked her way determinedly through the field to score by two and a quarter lengths under a sensitive ride from Silvestre de Sousa.

Bred by Lord and Lady Vestey at Stowell Park Stud, Lovely Pass is a daughter of their Group Two-winning mare Macadamia (Classic Cliche), whose half-sister Captivator won the Listed Snowdrop Fillies’ Stakes earlier this season.

Breeders’ Cup Classic winner Raven’s Pass stands at Kildangan Stud for €22,500 (October 1, Special Live Foal).
