First foal on the ground for Cracksman

Full sister to Just The Judge produces ‘neat, attractive’ filly at Newsells Park Stud

The 2020 foaling season has now well and truly begun and on Wednesday, 22 January, the first reported foal by outstanding dual Champion Stakes winner Cracksman arrived at Newsells Park Stud.

Bred by W & R Barnett Ltd, the filly is out of Amber Silk, a winning full sister to G1 Irish 1,000 Guineas and G1 EP Taylor Stakes winner Just The Judge.

Julian Dollar, General Manager at Newsells, described her as, “a neat attractive foal.

“She looks well balanced, bright and alert.”

Cracksman was European Champion at three and four, winning his pair of Champions Stakes by a combined total of 13 lengths. He also won the G1 Coronation Stakes and G1 Prix Ganay and was allotted a Timeform rating of no less than 136.

Retired to stand at Dalham Hall Stud in 2019, Cracksman was incredibly well supported during his first season, covering an outstanding book of 147 mares that included no fewer than 97 who are closely related to Group winners.

Cracksman stands at Dalham Hall Stud at a fee of £25,000, Oct 1, SLF.
