Offered by Mark Dwyer’s Oaks Farm Stable, this attractive colt caught the eye of plenty of buyers, but it was Angus Gold on behalf of Shadwell Estate Company Ltd that carried the day at 250,000gns, the highest price paid in Europe for a Helmet yearling in 2015.

The colt is the second foal out of the unraced Cape Cross mare Miranda Frost, a half-sister to the G3 winning sprinter Majestic Missile, and the speedy Stakes-performing pair Santo Padre and Parisian Elegance.

This colt is a half-brother to four winners, including the prolific Sleepy Blue Ocean and the triple scorer Mutawathea (Exceed And Excel).

Offered by Genesis Green Stud and snapped up by Gill Richardson, the colt also hails from the family of two outstanding mares in Treve and Triptych, as well as the Darley Japan stallion Furioso.

This filly got Helmet’s European yearling sales season off to a flying start, selling for €120,000 during the first half an hour of Arqana’s August yearling sale. Offered by the Coulonces Consignment and purchased by Hubert Guy Bloodstock, the filly is out of a sister to the G3 winner Istan, from the family of the high-class filly Purr Along.

€150,000, BBA Ireland 

The highest-priced filly by Helmet sold in Europe last year was this daughter out of the Mark Of Esteem mare Zoumie, who turned a great profit for her consigner Pier House Stud who purchased her for €34,000 at Goffs as a foal and resold her at the Orby Sale for €150,000.

Zoumie is a half-sister to the useful sprinter Croisultan and also hails from the family Redback, winner of both the G3 Greenham Stakes and G3 Solario Stakes.
