Downforce dominates in Listed Cork Stakes

Son of Fast Company leads home Black type exacta for his sire

Fast Company recorded a new Stakes winner in tremendous fashion on 2 April when his son Downforce stormed to an astounding 12-length victory in the Listed Cork Stakes.

Soon in front under Billy Lee, Downforce was in command throughout the six-furlong contest and once asked to quicken, soon opened up a huge margin over his rivals and won very easily. Penny Pepper, also by Fast Company, finished best of the rest to take second and add her first Black type to her record.

This was the fifth career win for Downforce, who rounded off his 2016 season with a third in the Listed Knockaire Stakes at Leopardstown.

Downforce was bred by P Burns and is out of the multiple winner Spinning Ruby (Pivotal), who is from the family of French Group winner and G1 performer Barbola.

Fast Company has now sired four individual Black type performers so far this year. He is also sire of last year’s G1 Irish 1,000 Guineas heroine Jet Setting and fellow G1 performer Devonshire.

Fast Company stands at Kildangan Stud at a fee of €7,000 October 1st SLF.
