Dar Re Mi adds G1 place to her fine record

More black type for Singspiel's dual Stakes-winning daughter; promising Bertolini debutante is unleashed at Newmarket

It was just eight days ago that Singspiel's three-year-old daughter Dar Re Mi took the G3 Prix Minerve at Deauville and she came close to adding the G1 Darley Yorkshire Oaks to her resumé with a sterling effort in the rescheduled fixture in which she eventually succumbed to the superb Lush Lashes.

Dar Re Mi has now run seven times for three wins (including the Listed Aphrodite Stakes), two seconds and two thirds for her owner/breeder Lord Lloyd Webber. She may now be aimed at the G1 Prix Vermeille at Longchamp on 14 September.

Another potentially exciting filly gave more than a hint at her ability in the EBF Maiden Fillies’ Stakes, also at Newmarket. Uvinza, by Bertolini, split a very well-bred pair in HM The Queen’s Sadler’s Wells filly Golden Stream and Prince Khalid Abdulla’s Midday when running second at long odds. The first three home all beat the previous track record. Out of the Shirley Heights mare Baddi Heights, Uvinza looks to have an excellent chance of notching a win for her owner/breeder Alison Ruggles in the near future.
