Crackovia the latest winner for first-season sire Cracksman

Promising filly makes all to win easily at Beverley

The first runners by Cracksman are really beginning to fly and on Tuesday, 21 June he added a new winner to his record in very eye-catching fashion when Crackovia landed the seven-furlong maiden fillies’ stakes at Beverley.

Making all under Joe Fanning, Crackovia had clearly benefited from the experience of her first run two weeks ago (where she finished third), travelling smoothly throughout. Once asked to quicken, the result was never in doubt as she opened up a clear lead, eventually crossing the line two lengths in front.

Like another impressive winner by Cracksman, Dance In The Grass, Crackovia is trained by Charlie and Mark Johnston.

She was bred by SCEA Marmion Vauville & Alain Jathiere and is out of the Stakes-placed Giant’s Causeway mare Olvia, a half-sister to Stakes winner and producer Mill Marin.

Cracksman was European Champion at three and World Champion at four, winning the Champion Stakes twice by a combined 13 lengths. He remains the best yet by Frankel.
