Cape Cross continues his winning week

Treat Gently records her second Group victory of the year

Just three days after Behkabad became the eighth winner at G1 level for Cape Cross, his daughter Treat Gently added her second consecutive victory at Group level when the talented five-year-old landed the G3 Robert G Dick Memorial Handicap at Delaware Park in the United States.

Settled off the pace under John Velazquez, the Juddmonte Farm homebred made her move once the field entered the home straight and sped home to win by a length and a quarter.

This was the fifth career win for Treat Gently, who won the G2 Sheepshead Bay Stakes at Belmont Park in May of this year and also won the G2 Prix de Malleret at Saint-Cloud before moving to the US.

She is out of the winning In The Wings mare Kid Gloves, a half-sister to blue hen Hasili – dam of no fewer than six G1 winners.

Cape Cross has sired nine Black type winners and a further seven Black type performers including the aforementioned G1 Grand Prix de Paris winner Behkabad (who will now be aimed at the Arc), and fellow G1 winner Able One.
