Byron sires his first winner

Shewalksinbeauty wins on her racecourse debut to open her first-season sire’s account

First-season sire Byron notched his first winner on 10 April, when his daughter Shewalksinbeauty made a successful racecourse debut at Lingfield.

Despite missing the break, the Richard Hannon-trained filly quickened well once entering the home straight and demonstrated an impressive turn of foot to take the lead in the closing stages and win by half a length.

Bred by John and Susan Flavin, Shewalksinbeauty is out of Election Special, a juvenile winner herself and also dam of six other winners including First Ballot.

Byron, who won the G2 Mill Reef at two and the G2 Lennox at three, is by sire of sires Green Desert, whose sons Cape Cross, Invincible Spirit and Kheleyf have all been crowned champion first-season sires. He also boasts an outstanding pedigree on his dam’s side, being from the family of A P Indy.

Byron stands at Dalham Hall Stud at a fee of £4,000 October 1st Special live foal.
