Boiling Point prevails in a red-hot renewal of the Listed Festival Stakes

Son of Too Darn Hot adds a second Black Type win to his record at Goodwood

Boiling Point (Too Darn Hot) recorded his second Stakes win and booked his ticket to Royal Ascot on Friday, 22 May when landing the Listed Festival Stakes at Goodwood in thrilling fashion.

The Karl Burke-trained entire was always prominent under jockey Shane Gray, however the race looked wide open as the field entered the final furlong. Boiling Point saw out his race brilliantly, getting up on the line to win by a short head.

He has now won or been placed on nine occasions, including winning the Listed King Charles III Stakes and three placings at Group level.

Boiling Point was bred by the late Sheikh Mohammed Obaid al Maktoum and is out of the Shamardal mare Lady Momoka, herself a half-sister to G3 winner Stellar Mass.

Too Darn Hot is also sire this year of G1 Al Quoz Sprint hero Native Approach, plus fellow top-flight winner Tropicus, who landed the G1 Oakfield Plate at Caulfield in February.
