Bloodless victory for Morgan le Faye

Daughter of Shamardal easily lands the Listed Prix Zarkava

Shamardal sired his second Stakes winner on the Longchamp card when his daughter Morgan le Faye ran out the very easy winner of the Listed Prix Zarkava. Trained by Andre Fabre, she was consistent last season when placing in the G1 Prix Royal-Oak and Prix du Cadran, and after being held up early, she cruised through the field in the straight to record a facile two-and-a-half length winner.

Bred by Dieter Burkle and a €350,000 yearling, she is the best performer to be bred from the G1 Prix du Cadran heroine Molly Malone.

Earlier in the card Shaman had become Group winner 63 for Shamardal when making all the running in the G3 Prix La Force. Morgan la Faye becomes his fourth Stakes winner this season with the highlight being Blue Point’s thrilling G1 triumph.
