Half-brother to True Story leads home 1-2 for New Approach at Newmarket
Winning Story led home a 1-2 for sons of New Approach when easily winning the Julian Wilson Memorial EBF Stallions Maiden Stakes at Newmarket on Wednesday. The three-year-old’s paternal half-brother Daqeeq was two lengths in arrears in second, while New Approach was also responsible for the fourth-placed Point Of View.
Winning Story, who holds an entry for the Derby, was making his racecourse debut and stayed on well up the hill at the Rowley Mile to score in the 1m2f contest for Godolphin. Out of the Darshaan mare Tanzania, Winning Story is a half-brother to True Story (Manduro), an easy winner of the Listed Feilden Stakes at the same meeting in 2014 who went on to be Group-placed on several occasions.
