Moore takes New Approach for winning return

New Approach continued his excellent run of form on Friday when his daughter Spatial was the eye-catching winner of the opening maiden at Newmarket. The filly, bred and owned by Cheveley Park Stud, also gave jockey Ryan Moore a winning return to action after his recent injury, travelling well before drawing away to win by two and a half lengths.

The two-year-old filly is out of the high-class mare Spacious, winner of the G2 May Hill Stakes at two before following up in the G2 Windsor Forest Stakes as a three-year-old. The mare was also G1-placed on five occasions, including when runner-up in the 1,000 Guineas.

New Approach is enjoying a great run of form, with a G2 double on Sunday including Nearly Caught in the G2 Darley Prix Kergolay at Deauville and Messi in the G2 Sky Classic Stakes at Woodbine a few hours earlier. New Approach was also responsible for a G1 first and third at the end of July when Elliptique won the Bayerisches Zuchtrennen at Munich with Potemkin in third.
