Sasparella

Daughter of Shamardal impresses on her debut at Deauvile

Carlos Laffon-Parais's newcomer Sasparella, a juvenile daughter of Shamardal">Shamardal out of the Green Desert mare Desertiste, created a very favourable impression at Deauville on her debut when beating a field of fellow debutants by four lengths. Well regarded, she holds future entries in the G1 Cheveley Park Stakes (she is her trainers only entrant) and the G3 Prix du Calvados.

Owned and bred by Wertheimer & Frere, who enjoyed G1 success yesterday with Singspiel's son Solow, Sasparella is a granddaughter of their famous mare Occupandiste, who was victorious in the G1 Prix de la Foret and G1 Prix Maurice de Gheest and has bred four Stakes winners to date.
