Shamardal colt from the family of Cursory Glance gets off the mark at Deauville
Raafid opened his account at the third time of asking at Deauville on Friday for Freddy Head, winning by two lengths over seven and a half furlongs in the colours of Sheikh Hamdan al Maktoum.
The three-year-old colt is a full brother to the maiden winner Glad Tidings, and is a half-brother to Time On, who scored in the G2 Prix de Malleret in which she defeated the subsequent dual G1 winner Lahudood. Another half-sister is Time Control, dam of the G1 Moyglare Stud Stakes heroine Cursory Glance.
Raafid's dam is the G3 Musidora Stakes heroine Time Away, descending from the top-class mare and producer Time Charter.
