Ocean Air

Rio de la Plata colt remains unbeaten to maintain his sire’s outstanding record in Britain and Ireland

Rio de la Plata, who stands at Haras du Logis in Normandy, is building up quite a collection of winners on British and Irish soil, with no fewer than six winners from seven runners to date.

One of these winners, James Tate’s charge Ocean Air, maintained his perfect record when victorious over seven furlongs at Leicester on 29 April.

Racing down the centre of the track under Martin Harley, Ocean Air was ridden along two furlongs out and took the lead inside the final furlong to win by a length. This was the same course and distance as his victory on debut last August.

Ocean Air was bred by Richard Tucker and is out of juvenile winner Silver Miss, a half-sister to the dame of dual G2 winner and G1-placed Silver Pond.
