Daughter of Shamardal books her place at Royal Ascot after an easy victory at Haydock

Nasimi, a juvenile filly by Shamardal, might have booked her place to Royal Ascot after a very impressive debut victory at Haydock on Thursday 26 May.

Running green from the stalls, the Godolphin-owned filly was soon trailing the field by upwards of five lengths. By halfway in the six furlong contest she had latched herself onto the back of the field, and still travelling sweetly on the bridle, swept past the runners to record a stunning three-length triumph.

Nasimi is the first foal of the G2 Cherry Hinton Stakes heroine Gamilati (Bernardini) who trained on to win the UAE 1,000 Guineas at three. A daughter of the G3-winner Illustrious Miss, Gamilati also has a colt foal by Dubawi and has been tested in foal again to Shamardal this season.
