Grand-daughter of dual Classic heroine Kazzia makes a splash at Ascot
Fourteen years after Kazzia scored a memorable hat-trick of G1 victories in the 1,000 Guineas, Oaks and Flower Bowl Invitational at Belmont Park, her grand-daughter announced her potential as a future talent with a taking debut victory in a seven-furlong contest at Ascot.
The Dubawi filly is the first foal out of Kazzia's daughter Kailani (Monsun), who triumphed in the Listed Pretty Polly Stakes at Newmarket on only her second start. Kailani is a half-sister to Zeitoper who landed the G3 Prix de Conde at two, and most notably to Eastern Anthem, winner of the G1 Dubai Sheema Classic in 2009 and G1-placed in Europe as well.
