Ibn Malik

Son of Raven's Pass impresses on his debut at Newmarket

Raven's Pass sired his fifth winner from his latest juvenile crop on Saturday June 29 when his son Ibn Malik made a sparkling winning debut over seven furlongs at Newmarket. Belying his lack of experience, he jumped from the stalls in front and never saw another rival, beating the most experienced Comicas by three-quarter-of-a-length, with Sir Michael Stoute's debutant Under Attack (Dubawi">Dubawi) run a promising race in fourth.

A Shadwell homebred, Ibn Malik is a half-brother to five winners including last season's winning juvenile Atab (New Approach). His dam, the unraced Storm Cat mare Moon's Whisper is a daughter of the dual Classic winner East Of The Moon and granddaughter of the great mare Miesque.
