Huge Future

A big name to live up to, but Shamardal colt gets off the mark in style

Huge Future might have been given a big title to live up to, but the three-year-old son of Shamardal opened his account in style at Newcastle on Saturday.

Having finished fourth on his racecourse debut at Newmarket last month, the colt came from off the pace in this ten furlong maiden to contest the lead in the final furlong, and won comfortably by two lengths.

Bred by the Barnetts and purchased for €260,000 as a yearling, Huge Future is out of the winning Sadler's Wells mare Time Honoured. She in turn is out of the great mare Time Charter, and is a half-sister to five black-type performers including the G2 winner Zinaad.
