Fancy Day opened her account in style in a six furlong contest at Pontefract, taking the lead with two furlongs still to run and maintaining her advantage to the line to win by two lengths.
By Shamardal, Fancy Day is out of a full-sister to the dual Breeders' Cup Classic hero Tiznow and to the dams of the G1 Preakness victor Oxbow and to another G1 winner in Paynter. Fancy Day's dam Tizdubai was herself a G2 winner over six furlongs and has already produced two winners.
