Back-to-back G2 victories for smart Slade Power filly

Queen Mary winner Raffle Prizes lands Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes in record-breaking style at Newmarket

Slade Power’s two-year-old daughter Raffle Prize is shaping into a very smart performer indeed and on Friday, 12 July she took her second straight G2 contest, breaking the two-year-old track record at Newmarket when winning the Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes.

Always prominent under Frankie Dettori, the Mark Johnston-trained filly travelled well throughout and once asked to quicken a furlong from home, soon took command and eventually won by a length and three quarters.

Raffle Prize broke her maiden by no fewer than five lengths in late May, before storming to victory in the G2 Queen Mary at Royal Ascot.

Raffle Prize is out of the Group-winning Pivotal mare Summer Fete, who also finished third in the G2 Celebration Mile. She has produced four winners to date and has a yearling filly by Exceed And Excel and a filly foal by Dubawi">Dubawi.

Slade Power is also sire of the Group-placed colt Bruce Wayne, plus fellow Black Type performers Jack’s Life and Strings Of Life.
