Authorized's son Signoff makes winning return with Stakes victory

Promising stayer claims Listed Lord Stakes at Caulfield

Talented Authorized stayer Signoff has returned to racing after a long break with an impressive victory in the Listed Lord Stakes at Caulfield on December 26.

The Darren Weir-trained gelding settled back in the field for jockey Harry Coffey before making a long run down the outside to finish powerfully to narrowly claim his second Stakes win at just his second start in 2015.

Bred in Ireland before being brought to Australia before he’d raced, Signoff is out of Gone West mare Miss Hepburn, a daughter of multiple Stakes winner Circle Of Gold, and the win takes his record to eight victories from just 16 starts.

Signoff, who won the G3 Lexus Stakes in November 2014, is one of 26 stakes winners for his sire Authorized.

Authorized has now sired 13 Stakes winners this year – more than any other stallion standing in France. The Stakes performers include G1 winner Hartnell and G2-winning duo Complacent and Maygrove.

Authorized stands at Haris du Logis, Normandy, for a fee of €10,000 October 1st Special live foal.
