Rayevka the latest Group winner for Blue Point

Talented filly sprints to success in G3 Prix de Saint-Georges at Longchamp

Blue Point added a new Group winner to his record in scintillating fashion on Sunday, 10 May when his four-year-old daughter Rayevka stormed to victory in the G3 Prix de Saint-Georges on the French Guineas undercard at Longchamp.

Francis Graffard’s charge was settled towards the rear during the early stages of the five-furlong contest before taking the lead a furlong from home. Once in front, the result never looked in doubt as she eased clear of her rivals to win by a length and three quarters.

This was the second Black Type victory for Rayevka, who landed the Listed Prix Marchand d’Or last June. She was also third in the G1 Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot, beaten less than a length and a return to the meeting could be on the cards as she is entered in both the G1 King Charles III and G1 Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes.

A homebred for Aga Khan Studs, Rayevka is out of the Stakes-placed Holy Roman Emperor mare Rayisa, also dam of today's French 2,000 Guineas winner Rayif.

Blue Point is also sire this year of G2 winner Dubai Beach, together with Listed winner Blue Bolt – who was second to Too Darn Hot’s outstanding daughter Fallen Angel in last year’s G1 Sun Chariot Stakes.

He is sire of three G1 winners to date, headed by Champion Miler Rosallion, who is standing his first season at Dalham Hall Stud.
