Another Listed win for Blue Point

Blue Bolt impresses with a stunning victory in the Fitzdares Conqueror Fillies' Stakes at Goodwood

Under beautiful blue May skies, Blue Bolt, talented daughter of Blue Point, swept to an impressive victory under jockey Colin Keane in the one mile Fitzdares Conqueror Fillies' Listed Stakes at Goodwood on Saturday 2nd May 2026.

Settled on the heels of the leaders after jumping well, the Andrew Balding-trained four-year-old travelled strongly when tracking Kon Tiki (Night Of Thunder) before mounting a challenge at the two furlong marker and going on to assert close home.

Kon Tiki finished a very creditable second under Silvestre De Sousa with Arisaig, a daughter of Harry Angel, flying home widest of all under Jamie Spencer to finish an eyecatching fourth.

This was Blue Bolt's seasonal debut, having last been seen at Newmarket finishing second to Fallen Angel in the G1 Sun Chariot Stakes. Her trainer indicated that a return to Headquarters could be on the cards with a possible tilt at the G1 Falmouth Stakes in July.

Bred by C-Squared Investments, Blue Bolt is out of the mare Mayhem (Whipper) and is a half-sister to multiple Black Type winning fillies Sea Theme and Sky Angel.

No other stallion this century has sired more Stakes winners at this stage in their career than Blue Point and his yearlings have made up to one million guineas in the sales ring. Blue Point stands at Kildangan Stud at a fee of  €100,000 (Oct 1 SLF)
