Oriental Tiger wins his first G1

Tiger Hill colt wins Rheinland-Pokal der Sparkasse Kolnbonn

Tiger Hill colt, Oriental Tiger gained his first G1 success on Sunday when running out an easy victor of the Rheinland-Pokal der Sparkasse Kolnbonn.

Adopting his usual front-running tactics under Terry Hellier, he had soon built a commanding lead and won unchallenged by seven-lengths. This was his third victory in four starts in 2008 which already included the G2 Gerling-Preis.

Bred by Gestut Auenquelle, he is of the Big Shuffle mare Oriental Flower, who was the top two-year-old filly on the German Free Handicap in 1996.

Tiger Hill, who stood his first season for Darley in 2006, has an exciting bunch of yearlings to look forward to this year, many of which will be amongst the 50 selling at Tattersalls Book 1 & 2, Goffs Million and Doncaster St Leger sales.
