German Listed winner for Singspiel

Daressalam maintains unbeaten record to win Grosser Preis der Hannoverschen Volksbank

Daressalam became Singspiel's third stakes winner of the year with  victory in the €20,000 Grosser Preis der Hannoverschen Volksbank at Hannover on Monday.

The three-year-old  colt had already won over ten furlongs on his debut this year when  landing the Golden Rose-Rennen at Frankfurt, and he found the extra furlong of the Listed contest no problem as he recorded a length-and-a-quarter win over Il Divo.

Daressalam was bred in Germany by Gestut Rottgen from the Shaadi mare Desidera. He is a half-brother to Dickens, who was runner-up to Schiaparelli, in the G1 Deutsches Derby in 2006.

Gower Song and Mulaqat have both helped maintain Singspiel’s international profile this year with stakes wins in Dubai, while his daughter Dar Re Mi is currently joint-favourite for the Oaks at Epsom on 6 June.

Five-year-old Ordnance Row (Mark Of Esteem), who was bred by his owner Mrs P Good, won the Listed Royal Windsor Stakes at Windsor's popular Monday evening meeting.
