Blue Point’s purple patch continues in style with victory for Gushing Gold

Four days, four new winners for Europe’s leading first-season sire

Blue Point’s first season with runners simply keeps getting better and better and on Thursday 24 August, Gushing Gold continued a stellar week for her sire with a convincing win at York to become his fourth winner in just four days.

Smartly away under William Buick, the Andrew Balding-trained filly was prominent throughout and once asked for her effort approaching the two-furlong marker, battled well and got up close to home to win by a neck.

Gushing Gold was bred by Rabbah Bloodstock and is out of the Stakes-winning Iffraaj mare Mehronissa, also dam of Shamardal’s Group performer Meshakel. The dam is herself a half-sister to G2 winner and G1 performer Three Degrees (Singspiel).

Elmonjed kicked off proceedings on Monday when breaking the track record at Lingfield, swiftly followed by an impressive win for Godolphin homebred Valdivara at Deauville on Tuesday. Yesterday, Gutsy Girl stormed to a three-and-three-quarter length victory at Carlisle.

Big Evs, a dual Stakes winner and one of five Black Type performers to date for Blue Point, will line up against older horses in the G1 Nunthorpe Stakes tomorrow.
