The Blue Point bandwagon continues to roll

Valdivara becomes her first-season sire’s second winner in as many days with convincing victory at Deauville

Leading first-season sire Blue Point further increased his tally of winners, to 27, on Tuesday 22 August when homebred Godolphin filly Valdivara landed the six-furlong conditions at Deauville.

Andre Fabre’s charge was settled just off the pace, before being shaken up two furlongs from home. She kept on very well in the closing stages to take the lead and eventually won by two lengths.

Valdivara is out of the winning Invincible Spirit mare Etruria, a full sister to fellow Darley stallion and ever-consistent sire Territories.

Only yesterday, Blue Point colt Elmonjed broke the track record at Lingfield when winning on debut, while dual Stakes winner Big Evs will take on his older rivals in the G1 Nunthorpe Stakes at York on Friday.
